Description
The double-link tubing elevator with an automatic locking device ETAD is designed for gripping under the coupling or tool joint and suspending tubing or drill pipe strings during tripping operations, both with vertical pipe installation and with laying pipes on the pipe rack during well completion and repair operations. The elevator is designed for operation in moderate and cold macroclimatic regions according to GOST 16350-80.
The ETAD elevator consists of the following main parts and assemblies: body, replaceable slips, stops, and a locking device consisting of a splined bushing with a welded handle. The body is a steel casting with two side lugs for elevator links, which are used for suspending the elevator from the hook of the traveling block system. The inside of the body has a bore for installing replaceable slips.
The ETAD elevator slip is designed to grip pipes of the corresponding diameter. A separate slip is provided for each pipe diameter. The slip consists of two jaws and a rod connected by a hinge pin. The slip rod has two splined projections located at an angle to each other, which engage with the bushing of the locking device. The slip jaws have windows into which stops are installed to limit jaw movement when opening the slip.
